Welcome to Claudia's Baskets. My name is Claudia and I am the owner of Claudia's Baskets.

Claudia's Baskets are handwoven using rattan reed, a vine found in the jungles of China and Indonesia.

The rattan is harvested and processed into reed used in basketry and chair caning. Reed can be round or flat, is quite strong and pliable, and readily takes to dyes giving many options for color and texture.

Other materials often found in Claudia's Baskets include seagrass, and handles and sometimes wood bases made of ash or oak. Occasionally strips of ash, oak or maple are used to give strength and decorative interest.

All baskets are signed and dated by the artist. Custom orders are gladly accepted.

Most baskets are made to order, so please allow a 4- 5 week delivery time.
